“Walking Wisdom Woodquay” is the work of choreographer Bernadette Divilly. The project supports relationships with people, city places, and creativity and the envisaging and developing of city design that pays attention to the slow enduring wisdom of the body, place and memory.
This event includes; meditation, walking, mapping and using the intelligence of the heart brain to support ease and connection between bodies, space and place. Local Place Makers, Elders, Students, Architects, Academics and Artists will be invited to share perceptions in a creative exchange of knowledge though a dance date with a difference.
Walking Wisdom Woodquay” is developing in collaboration with Galway City Architect, Rosie Webb’s project, “Design with Communities” and her architect students from UL will be present.
This event will be Facilitated By Bernadette Divilly with Sharon Murphy (GOWC) Dr. Nessa Cronin NUIG Academic Partner will be present.
The Walking Wisdom Wood-quay project is still in early stages but will culminate in a number of site-responsive performances in 2015-articulating local urban design dilemmas.
Supported by Galway City Council Architects Office, the Town Hall Theatre, Galway Dance Project, Galway One World Centre, NUI Galway Ómos Áite and CKI, Arts Council and Galway City Council.
