Using books and storytelling to promote diversity and equality in the intercultural classroom.
A workshop for early years educators.
Storytime offers the perfect opportunity to positively reflect the diversity of the children in our classrooms and pre-schools and is also an excellent way to explore the issue of equality in the wider world in accessible, age-appropriate ways. Participants at this workshop will have the opportunity to survey key issues in the selection, creation and presentation of culturally-diverse stories and to become familiar with a range of tried-and-tested storytelling materials. All participants will receive a complimentary story pack and access to the Galway One World Centre resource library.
The workshop is aimed at early years educators who work with children in pre-school settings and in primary schools up to senior infant level and is also open to others with an interest in developing skills in intercultural storytelling with young children.
Free of charge. Places are limited so booking is advised.
